Takako was a postdoc in Ames in 1995. She worked on projects such as the geometry and ground state of TiH2 and oxygen compounds of titanium. Since returning to Japan, she has collaborated with Mark on the mechanism of the condensation reactions leading to silsesquioxanes (POSS), as well as titanium substituted POSS. Fortunately, she has been able to visit Ames many summers since her first trip.
