Professor Tom Cundari

Tom was a postdoc in Fargo in 1991. He performed many calculations on transition metal compounds, sparking the Gordon group's interest in these elements. Several of his studies involved multiple bonding with main group elements and bond activation energies. Since leaving, Tom developed the compact effective core potentials for the lanthanide elements, which are built into GAMESS due to his efforts. He is therefore famous as the C in the SBKJC family of ECPs.
